In collaboration with the family of Bessie Gibson, The Tweed River Art Gallery is delighted to present a small exhibition of the work by one of Australia's most accomplished and recognised painters of the 1920s and 1930s. A number of exquisite miniatures are assembled in this exhibition alongside other works that were during her life abroad, including a number of watercolours that exemplify her flair for colour and fluidity of line.

Catherine O'Donnell
This exhibition highlights Catherine's interest in light and shadow, geometry, the everyday and commonly overlooked urban environments and presents a suite of large-scale charcoal drawings of the Venetian city though which she prompts the buildings to tell stories for themselves. Francisco Goya
Created in the time of social repression and economic crisis in Spain, Francisco Goya set out to document the human condition and denounce social abuses, social backwardness and ignorance and intellectual oppression. Los Caprichos is a set of eighty etchings by this iconic Spanish artist first published in 1799. It is one of the most influential series of graphic images in the history of Western Art. An exhibition curated from the AlburyCity Collection.

Ross McMaster
Ross is a painter, printmaker and book artist who uses appropriated images and texts in a mixed media approach to art production. His subject is drawn from the questioning of his personal belief systems.
Ross's work currently questions the validity of organised religion (the church) within contemporary society as well as its political agenda.

Paths to Portraiture
Jenny Sages
An exhibition of portraits by Jenny Sages, accompanied by drawings that the artist made in preparation for the works, and materials that inspired and influenced them. Her inquisitive, intelligent and effusive personality is woven through her artworks, which are linked through her life experience. Subjects of the arresting portraits are four strong senior women, painter Emily Kngwarreye, author Helen Garner, dancer Irina Baronova, and Sages herself.
