The Last Tree is a creative studio headed by Ilka Blue. We work with organisations and communities to remedy a wide range of environmental issues. Our current focus is the application of storytelling (as a pattern recognition tool) in helping generate biodiverse ecosystems and curtail extinction rates. Two examples are the ArtLab Bat/Human Project & the 2011 Floating Land Festival where we designed & facilitated workshops including the 2-day 'WaterLab'. The Last Tree employs several creative methods to activate environmental change: oral & digital storytelling; workshops; video & sound; debate & writing. A great example is our regular column 'Considering' in the quarterly Wildlife Australia Magazine where we explore issues effecting Australian wildlife in context of art projects from around the world - it's just one way The Last Tree rewrites the story to show it from alternate perspectives. We welcome you at our website & blogs to find more tales.
