Arts Northern Rivers is working with regional, state and national partners to deliver the following projects.
Information on our completed projects can be found in our Project Archive.
Arts Northern Rivers is leading the way in creative industries development. In 2008 we produced the state’s first regional Arts and Creative Industries Strategy. We are currently working towards the achievement of priorities identified in the Strategy document. This includes the implementation of a pilot Creative Industries Broker Project, in the Fashion, Music and Digital/ Screen sectors.
Our Indigenous Arts Development Project provides support services for local Indigenous visual artists including one on one assistance, professional development workshops, and opportunities to show their work via local and regional exhibitions. Oucomes of the project to date have also included publication of the book, A Special Kind of Vision.
Splendid is a national program supporting young and emerging artists at the frontier of contemporary ideas creation. A maximum of ten people are selected to take part in the program annually. Their experience gets underway with a three week residency in Lismore.
The Visual Arts Network was a four year initiative supporting local visual artists. Although this project has now officially concluded, we continue to maintain the Visual Arts Network website as an important resource. The site showcases the work of more than 100 of the region’s premier artists in an online gallery, which attracted almost 35,000 unique visitors in the first two years of its operation.
