The Quad Progam Announced

The Lismore Quadrangle has unveiled its new 12-month program of events, with everything from beat poetry in a tent to site-specific bamboo installations and an open-air cinema coming in 2018.

The Quad program is a bold, brave and innovative line-up of art, music, performance, installation and entertainment that is challenging, inspiring, occasionally confronting and certainly never dull.

A partnership between Southern Cross University and Lismore City Council jointly funds the work of Marisa Snow, the Lismore Quadrangle Placemaking Officer, who is activating The Quad and Lismore CBD through innovative placemaking strategies over the next three years.

The result is a suite of new activities that harness the power of creatives, students, researchers and organisations across the city, the region and worldwide.

Marisa said 2018 was a pilot year to explore a dynamic cross-disciplinary program, and test what works for the site, artists, the community and stakeholders.

“I’d like the 2018 program to be a unique showcase of this region’s talents, but also to provide an inter-generational opportunity for the community to intersect, relate and be inspired. This program forms the feature elements for this year, which will continue to build as partnerships and funding are confirmed. I am passionate that the program remains predominately free and accessible for all sectors of the community”
