Raconteurs Coming to Byron This November

Coming to Byron Bay Scout Hall from Tuesday 14 – Friday 24 November 2017 is Dance Integrated Australia’s multi art-form project, ‘Raconteurs’.

Led by Creative Director Philip Channells, the ‘Raconteurs’ project is a series of immersive skills development workshops spanning across art-forms including: writing for the theatre, dance, movement, street performance and choreography, story telling & journeying, sound design & Djing and interdisciplinary practice.

This inaugural project supports local artists to deepen their practice, connect with like minded creatives and seed new collaborations for future development.

‘Projects like Raconteurs can support the development of artists’ work through connecting them with like-minded community members, while enabling a platform to establish new professional networks and develop collegiality.

‘At the same time, ‘Raconteurs’ boosts the regions creative capitol and contributes to its national reputation for producing high calibre community arts events,’ said Channells.

Joining the artistic line up for Dance Integrated Australia’s ‘Raconteurs’ project in Byron Bay is internationally renown, interdisciplinary artist, Bill Shannon (USA). Bill joins local artists including: Bere (Mullumbimby), Phil Blackman (Lismore), Philip Channells (Clunes), Pob Sellors aka ‘DJ Pob’ (Federal) and Mark Swivel (Mullumbimby).
