Auslan Creative Forum

Auslan Creative Forum

Auslan Creative is a major project working with the Northern Rivers Deaf community and multi-artform partners including Screenworks, Lismore Regional Gallery, Northern Rivers Conservatorium and NORPA.

While COVID-19 has delayed aspects of the project, we have been able to deliver a Screenwriting workshop, a movement workshop and are in the process of finalising an exciting visual arts project with the Museum of Contemporary Art and Lismore Regional Gallery.

We will be delivering an exciting arts program in September including workshops, performances and an amazing inclusive musical performance – which we can’t announce just yet – but trust us – it’s huge! We are also working on a bigger event for 2022 – the Auslan Festival.

To help us make sure we’re on the right track and assist us in developing ideas for the Auslan Festival, we invite you to join a Forum event for the Deaf community and their allies on Friday 28 May between 10am and 2pm at the Lismore Regional Gallery.

We plan to hold a panel discussion around inclusive programming and then workshop some ideas for the Auslan Festival – and we really need your input.
