Think Big

Think Big

Arts Northern Rivers want to hear your big ideas. Applications are open now for proposals of ambitious ideas ready to be developed into contemporary arts projects in the Northern Rivers.

‘The Northern Rivers has produced some really groundbreaking arts projects so we are expecting to be wowed,’ said Arts Northern Rivers Executive Director Peter Wood.

Applications will be assessed by a panel of 3 highly regarded leaders including; Lisa Havilah, Director of Carriageworks, the largest and most significant contemporary multi-arts centre of its kind in Australia; Jeff Khan, Artistic Director & CEO of Performance Space where he oversees the annual Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art, as well as a range of residencies, laboratories and artist development programs and Roslyn Helper, Director of Underbelly Arts an experimental platform developing and presenting work from the boldest new voices in Australian art.

Five proposals will be shortlisted to have face to face time with the panel members to pitch their idea before the winner is announced at a Big Ideas networking night in April.

‘The panel will be looking for a boundary pushing concept, something original and something at the cutting edge of contemporary arts practice’, Mr Wood added.

The winning project will receive a tailored Project Development Package; a unique opportunity to work closely with Arts Northern Rivers to hone their project and develop a funding application for mid 2018.

During this incubation phase the successful applicant can leverage Arts Northern Rivers’ expertise and gain access to industry networks and expert knowhow across various sectors.

Applications are open now and close on 11 March 2018. For more information visit yourbigideanr.com
