Soundcheck: Insights into Australia’s music festival sector

A questionnaire developed by Arts Northern Rivers in consultation with the Northern Rivers creative community, this questionnaire was created and distributed to coincide with the 2024 Local Elections across the 7 LGAs in the Northern Rivers Region, NSW.

A series of free creative community workshops and storytelling days that culminated in a multi arts performance in Tabulam Town.

Arts Northern Rivers and Elevator ARI collaborated with Performance Space (Gadigal Land, Sydney) to support and profile experimental performance practices in the Northern Rivers. This initiative featured a discussion with Kate Britton (Artistic Director, Performance Space) and Jane Fuller (Executive Director, Arts Northern Rivers) and a workshop led by internationally celebrated artist and storyteller, Justin Talplacido Shoulder, alongside a series of artist studio visits.

Arts Northern Rivers’ sector mapping project, ‘Who Are We?’ intends to discover the full picture of our arts and culture sector. What art is being made here? By whom, for whom? What do artists and audiences need?

Horizons, the creative industry career development program has announced the fifteen mentors who will be working across all art forms with 75 young people across regional NSW.

They say the Northern Rivers is home to some of the most diverse, vibrant arts communities in Australia with the highest concentration of creatives outside of metropolitan areas. But is it really? It's time to show who we really are!

Clarence Valley Council has taken the silver award in the Australian Street Art Awards in the Best Monument or Memorial category for the 2022 Flood Memorial Murals project.
