Tabulam Trail of Light and Sound 2024

On Saturday, May 25th, 2024, the Tabulam Trail of Light and Sound, a multi-arts installation by RealArtWorks Inc., captivated over 300 attendees from across the region, including visitors from Lismore and Ballina. The project was a collaboration involving more than 50 community participants, 30 emerging and professional artists from the diverse communities of Tabulam and Jubullum, 25 artists from across the Far North Coast, and visiting artists from Bermagui and Tenterfield.

Led by artists of varying abilities, the project explored the theme of "HOME" through inclusive, skill-based workshops. These workshops culminated in a one-night-only performance that transformed the streets and buildings of Tabulam into a vibrant celebration of community and creativity.

“It was one of those events where you don’t expect it to be as amazing as it is. I knew it was going to be awesome. Then when so many people turned up it became magical!”
- Rebecca Tapscott, Kyogle based artist

The event was opened by Senior Poppy Harry and State MP Janelle Saffin. Audiences were treated to a mesmerizing array of multi-arts performances, including drama, water art, puppetry, dance, and an original live musical score created in collaboration with the Tabulam community. The performances brought to life stories and memories of comedy, adversity, romance, and wild encounters, celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of life west of the ranges.

"Employing locals to help with the art, music, catering and workshops was a fantastic boost to our local community"
- Christine, Drake
